Meet
Hilary is the founder and principal designer of Proper House. She blends lifelong creativity with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a Master’s Certificate in Interior Design from Fairfield University. Her early love for drawing houses and designing her own childhood spaces shaped the thoughtful, intuitive style she is known for today. She was voted Best of Main Line Today in 2025, an acknowledgment of both her design work and the elevated service she provides.
Clients appreciate her calm, organized approach and the signature structure that makes even large projects feel manageable. Hilary partners closely with contractors, architects, and trusted trades so her clients never have to wonder what comes next or worry about details being overlooked. Her work is guided by integrity, creativity, faith, and a belief that a beautifully designed home supports a beautiful life.
Hilary’s happiest moments are the ones shared with her husband. They enjoy movie nights, running, working out, hiking, and taking on Spartan races and Tough Mudders together. Their weekends are grounded in church and family time. Home is filled with the joy of their bernedoodle, Margot, and the bright energy of Hilary’s little girl, who is the center of her life and the reason she pours her heart into everything she does.
